Your Tiki Hut... or Mine?

Recently I was faced with a bit of a challenge.... I had to use one of the Imagine Crafts Kaleidacolor pads on a "themed" project.... only problem... I don't have a brayer! How on earth could I use this ink pad with no brayer?!

Well... I overcame the challenge and made this beautiful card... with no brayer!

If you don’t have a brayer or blending markers, don’t worry! You can still get a similar effect using the kaleidacolor and memento ink pads!

Gather your supplies. You will need a kaleidacolor pad, ink blushers, plain white cardstock, and a template.

Tape your template to the white cardstock. Begin by daubing and ink blusher into the first color on the kaleidacolor pad, rush over top of the template. For more vivid colors, go over more than once. Repeat with each color in the stamp pad until you reach a desired look.

Once you are finished, carefully peel the template off of the cardstock. You can cut around the image and adhere it to a card or other project.

In the meantime, take some fireworks spray and spritz some embellishments. I like to use white ribbons because I can always match them to my projects.

Next, we are going to color with some fantastix! Gather up some stamps and Memento dew drop pads.

Stamp your image onto white cardstock. Dab your fantastix brush onto a lighter shade of ink and begin shading in your image. You can go back in with a darker color and sort of blend the colors together. You can also use water with your fantastix to blend the colors.

Once you get all of your images stamped and colored, cut them out and add to your card.

Once you have all of your pieces, you can add them to your project with dimensional dots.

Lovely job, and innovative non-brayering! :)

Wow! Very beautiful and clever use of the Kaleidacolor ink pad. Only problem is it makes me want to head to the tropics and get out of this snow!!
