Unique Gift Wrapping with May Arts Ribbon!

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbon unique gift wrapping blog hop! The ribbonista elf's have been busy coming up with creative ideas to showcase how to use your May Arts Ribbon collection to wrap gifts this holiday season!

For my project, I kept it pretty simple. No one likes to spend a long time wrapping just one present, so this one is quick and easy! For those smaller presents, use unique scrapbooking paper! I love to use Authentique paper. The texture and thickness of it is perfect for wrapping! I added ribbon around and finished off with a bow tied with my bow it all bow maker. On top I added a floral embellishment.

Now for the prizes! By commenting, you have your chance to win two amazing prize packs: Your choice of 1 roll of Christmas ribbon (including the new releases!) and one of the new Artful Accents.

Here's the line up, and complete details can be found over on the May Arts Blog:

May Arts Kids Craft Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbon Kids Craft Holiday Blog Hop! We are kicking off a 2 day hop with the Ribbonistas to share some fabulous holiday crafts that you can do with your kids this Christmas.

I always have trouble coming up with craft projects that aren't too advanced and that I can make with my daughter. I must admit, this one wasn't my idea totally... I took to Pinterest (as we all do in crafty times of need) and found this super cute and easy Christmas Tree ornament craft. This was so simple and it would be a great project to make with your kids and give out as gifts or to tie on to presents this year.

You will need a variety of ribbon, some scissors, and a twig. I went outside and picked a little limb off of one of my trees.

Simply tie ribbons starting from the bottom. Be sure to leave a small space at the bottom so it will look like your tree trunk. Start to trim the ribbons as you go up making each one slightly shorter than the last.

Once you get to the tip, tie a string to use this as an ornament. Tie a tiny bow to the top to hide where the string was tied on and to crate a finished look.

Don't forget to hop along and visit the other Ribbonistas blogs today as well!

Be sure to stop by the May Arts Blog for prizes & lots of inspiration and creative crafts to do with your kids this holiday season!

May Arts Handmade Christmas Card Hop

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbonista Christmas Card Hop!

It's never too early to start making Christmas cards. At least in my book that's how it goes. Most paper companies come out with their new Christmas lines in July, so that gives everyone a nice head start, plus, you can always find amazing ribbons to go along when you search the May Arts catalog!

I created this card with Authentique Paper's "Believe" collection. This collection is perfect. Plus, you can get the cardmaking stack which comes with pre-scored cards. Makes things a lot easier when you have to create a bunch of cards! What card would be complete without some yummy ribbon?! I used the 1/2 inch Pom Pom String in Red, 3/8 inch Metallic Velvet in Parrot Green, and 5/8 inch Solid/Plaid ribbon in blue for this card.

Be sure to visit fellow ribbonistas Karen Baker, Jennifer Davey, Jenifer Cowles, Jen Shears, Charlene Driggs, and Gini Williams Cagle today and don't forget to hop over to the May Arts Blog for more inspiration!

May Arts, Simple Stories, & Xyron Blog Hop!

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbon, Simple Stories. & Xyron blog hop!

For my project, I wanted to display a couple of photos from my trip to the Outer Banks, NC last year. We go every year, but I had a couple of really great photos that I took over the 4th of July. The Simple Stories "Sea to Shining Sea" collection was PERFECT for this project!

I started by printing some photos from my trip and finding the perfect chipboard banner to do the job.

I used my Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the paper to the chipboard.

I took this photo at the Cape Hatteras light house... that was before I decided to go up in the lighthouse, that's a once in a lifetime kind of thing ;-)

This was one of my favorite photos, we found a little beach that was pretty private and spent most of our days there. Very serene.

This is the same beach in the photo above. We actually spent the 4th of July there relaxing and my husband fished a little. I love embellishing with the stickers from this collection kit.

I chose to display this banner in my hallway over my "beach" shrine. It's the perfect finishing touch!

I LOVE making banners for the sheer fact that I can make them shine with some lovely May Arts Ribbon. The anchor ribbon is one of my faves and I couldn't wait to use it on this project!

Thanks for stopping by today!

For my project I wanted to create a fun shaker card. I've never made one before and since I always have so much trouble with those lovely mica fragments going everywhere, I thought they would best be contained for this project.

I started by stamping with VersaMagic and embossing with a white embossing powder. I then rubbed some Radiant Neon inks over top and rubbed the excess off with a paper towel.

Next I filled a little clear cello bag with some mica fragments and taped it to the inside. I stamped a sentiment on the inside of the card.

Thanks for joining us today!
