It's A Charmed Life!

It's my turn today on the Simple Stories blog and I have a super adorable mini album to share! First, let me start off by saying that I LOVE Simple Stories NEW "A Charmed Life" collection. This one is right up my alley, the colors are perfect, the elements are perfect, and I just adore all of the sweet sentiments.

I have been hanging on to this little Maya Road Chipboard/Acrylic stand album for a while, but decided to finally put it in use. I needed a new piece to sit on my desk.

My husband and I got anniversary photos taken this past year, so I wanted to have them on display for sure! I take every opportunity that I get to have a photo session. The end results are a fun time and amazing photos that last a lifetime. These did not let me down. We had a blast with this photos session!

The sun was so bright that morning so we couldn't get a ton of photos down by the river, but I adore this one. That's the great Ohio River for those of you wondering.

Here's a few pages from the inside. I used some of the Sn@p cards on the top pages because I loved the sentiments and these little cards fit perfectly.

Another element from this collection that I love are the little chipboard stickers. They give some nice dimension to projects and they are just adorable!

Here's the album from the side.... if I would have put anything else on it, I believe it would fall over!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Ribbon Lady Is Tying The Knot! Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbonista surprise Blog Hop for Bethney (aka The Ribbon Lady). We recently heard the great news that Bethney got engaged and we wanted to put on a little something special for her.

I've had the pleasure to work with Bethney on the May Arts DT for a little over a year now, but have known her for a couple of years. We've exchanged lots of stories- anything from our kids to our relationships, etc. When Bethney told me about her new relationship with this guy, Joe, I had a feeling she was in it for the long haul because he sure sounds like a keeper!

I wanted to create something special for Bethney to add photos of her and her sweetie in, so I made this "Love" themed mini album with Authentique's Irresistible collection (which is one of the prizes you can win by the way... see details below.)

The black & white paper will be perfect for Bethney to match any of her photos with, engagement to wedding.

Thanks for joining us today! Bethney is very special to all of us Ribbonistas, so we hope you had fun celebrating with us today!

Hop right along down the list:
Emily Lanham <----- YOU ARE HERE

Now... We're ALSO offering up a huge prize pack of goodies to one lucky random person who goes over to the May Arts facebook page and wishes Bethney a HUGE Congratulations on her recent engagement!

DCWV & Therm O Web Summer Lovin Blog Hop!

Welcome to the DCWV/Therm O Web Summer Lovin’ Blog hop.

Today, the design teams from DCWV and Therm O Web have brought together all the things we love about summer! The designers are have combined paper from DCWV’s Sunday Afternoon and Everlasting Love stacks, together with a variety of adhesives, mists and other fantastic products from Therm O Web!

If you have come here from Karla's Blog then you're on track! If not, you should go back to the DCWV blog and start today’s leg of the hop from there!

For my Summer Lovin' project, I thought I would continue with the theme I've had this past week on my blog... Wedding! Love is in the air and it's definitely Wedding season! Do you have a friend or family member that you know who is getting married this summer? I've got a fun step-by-step tutorial today how to make some adorable wedding favors!

I'm sure you've sen these little containers before, right? They look like sour cream containers, but can be filled with anything that you like. At first I thought these looked complicated, but they are so easy to make!

First, cut your piece of paper to 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Add some adhesive to the sections where the arrows are drawn above.

Roll your piece of paper to form a tube, press firmly so adhesive will stick.

Close one end by pressing firmly so adhesive will stick.

Take a paper crimper to the end that is sealed.

This will be your result. Add candy, bird seed, or whatever you want to put in the container to the open end.

Seal by pressing firmly on the open end and crimp with paper crimper.

If you want to embellish yo can. I absolutely love to add flowers to everything and this time, I wanted to give them a nice subtle sparkle. The Therm O Web Glitter Dust is AMAZING and it's one of my favorite products right now.

For my project I used DCWV's Everlasting Love stack. This stack is great. The nice neutral tones allow you to keep your projects neutral or jazz them up with any splash of color that you desire to add.

For my project, I thought pink was the perfect addition.

Be sure to visit all the blogs today, and leave comments for your chance to win!  Two lucky readers will win a set of 3 stacks from DCWV, and an additional reader will receive an amazing gift pack from Therm O Web!   The more you comment, the more chances you have to win!

Next, hop right along and see what Julia has in store for you today!

Love is In The Air!

Woo hoo! I'm Guest Designing on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog today! My SWEET friend Nicole (owner and designer of SSS) asked me if I could feature an older (but very popular) SSS set today, so I grabbed the stamp set and started thinking of ideas.

When I first looked at the Sentimental Birds stamp set, I think oh, yes, I can make a sympathy card with this! Not today! I wasn't feelin' sympathy. So I decided to break out the new "Irresistible" paper collection from Authentique Paper. It IS the beginning of wedding season after all, right?!

Here's what I came up with!

I had one of my wedding photos left over from another top secret project that I was working on with this paper collection as well as some scraps... so I grabbed a piece of MDF type board that I had cut and went to town!

This project is one that needs to be displayed on a plate stand since it's just a flat piece of board, but it makes a very elegant decor piece.  It's a very nice & inexpensive wedding/anniversary gift idea!

I just love the little sentiments in this stamp set. So petite but yet so perfect!

I had some more scraps, so I also decided to make a little card.

Aren't those little birds darling? I think they go perfectly with the Love/Wedding/Anniversary theme!

The great thing is that you can do SO much more with this stamp set! Don't forget to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop and pick yours up today!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A "Lively" Mini-Album, A Class, & A Color Challenge!

Hello all! I think I'm a little late on posting my project for Authentique's JULY Color challenge! I was away at CHA when the challenge was posted, so I didn't get a chance to update it here on my personal blog. Better late than never, right?

Isn't the color scheme awesome? I just LOVE the "Lively" Collection from Authentique. It's probably one of my favorite paper lines to this date. You have until TOMORROW NIGHT to link up your color challenge projects on the Authentique blog! To play along, please CLICK HERE!

Earlier this year, after attending several CKC Events (CKC=Creating Keepsake Convention), I decided that I wanted to teach at one this year. So I made that my goal. Create more, and try to teach more.

With that said, I will be teaching this fabulous mini album class at CKC Cincinnati next month! I'm so excited! I love how this album turned out and there is room inside for so many photos& embellishments, a perfect way to store your memories!

The cool thing about this mini album, you can customize it to your own personal photos. It doesn't have to be about love (which I chose that for my theme because I wanted a sweet little 1st year album for my husband and I).

Here's a little peek at the album and some inside shots. I can't show off the WHOLE album, I'm saving that for my class ;-)

This class will be jam-packed full of fun stuff! You get a kit that is literally loaded with beautiful papers, stickers, ribbons, bling, etc AND If you attend the class, I will teach you how to make your OWN embellishments! If you follow my blog, you know that i love to make embellishments, much cheaper, and so easy to customize them to your projects.

If you aren't able to attend the class and still want a kit, please email me at createserendipity@gmail.com as I do have a few extras. They are $40 each (plus shipping) and also come with an instruction sheet.

CKC Cincinnati is September 28 & 29, I will be teaching this class both days at 4pm

To sign up, please visit the website HERE, click the class grid and scroll down (you will see the album photos) the class name is "Fabulous Bright & Cheery Mini Album Workshop" I hope to see you all there!

I have a little treat today... I made a mini album! Woo hoo! I haven't done one of these in a while because I've been sick and had other things to make for the most part, but it made me so happy to make a mini for this hop!

Cute, right? I love the "Be Mine" papers from Echo Park!

This is a heart shaped chipboard album, I don't make a lot of chipboard albums, but my Silhouette Cameo has made it a lot easier for me to make them!

Another thing I am loving my Cameo for... the print & cut feature! See all of those matching tags? Yep, I made them with my printer & my Cameo!

Here's a bit of a closer look, this album is a lot of fun! Want to make one for yourself? Check this out...

I'm selling kits with EVERYTHING to make this exact album in my Etsy Shop now! You can buy yours by clicking HERE!

A Dream Is A Wish... Your Heart Makes

Every girl dreams of being a princess, I know I always did. The other day while I was laying in bed daydreaming, I thought of a beautiful idea for an album! I had just bought the most beautiful K&Co paper from Michael's and it featured some of my favorite colors, purple, turquoise, green, and lots of black & white. I ran upstairs and got my Gypsy and started playing around. I've had the Disney Princess cartridges for a while now but never really used them, so finally, now I have! As you can see, I used the Cinderella silhouette in the background and also played with the words. I welded quite a few words together and it was a little hard to cut with the glitter paper, but I think it turned out nice!

The little shoe charm was fitting for this fairy tale princess album.

I tried something a little new with the photo mats and added doubles to the pockets. I also stitched all photo mats throughout the album, this just adds an extra elegant look and feel I think.

I loved this little pin, I have been holding onto it for a while now and thought it fit this album quite well!

You can view this album for sale now in my Ebay HERE

I'm also editing this to add that I'm changing my challenge entry for the Sugar Sweet Paper Treats blog to this one... I like it a lot better than the acrylic. The challenge was to alter something. For this, I altered paper lunch sacks that I had here. Everyone has them laying around, so why not give it a try! The link to the challenge is: http://www.sugarsweetpapertreats.blogspot.com/ :-)
