A Ribbon Baby Blog Hop!

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbon Baby Blog Hop! Since our Queen of the Ribbonista's (Bethney) recently had a precious little bundle of joy, we have all been gushing over everything baby! What an exciting reason to hold a blog hop! 

I seem to always be in hairbow mode because making hairbows for little girls and babies is so much fun!!! I decided to make a cute headband along with some barefoot sandals. These are all the trend right now! I made up a little tutorial on how to make the barefoot sandals. They are so quick and easy to create, what an adorable and inexpensive baby gift! 

You will need: Ribbon flowers, elastic, and some little jewels for the centers. 

First, cut your elastic. For newborn size cut the elastic around 9". For 6-9 month size, cut the elastic at about 11". 

Make a figure 8 with the elastic as shown and hot glue.

Cut out your flower. To attach it, you will need a felt circle. This makes the backing soft on the baby's feet. Ialso use these on the backs of the headbands as well.

Glue in place like so. 

Add a little rhinestone center or leave plain, either way, these are adorable! 

I didn't have a little baby to model these cute little accessories, but if you google search "baby barefoot sandals" you will see several examples of how they are worn!

Kid-o-Saurus Baby Decor!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! We are halfway through the week and it's cold and rainy here in Southern Ohio. Perfect weather for a crock-pot full of homemade soup and crafting all day! 

Over the weekend, my friend had asked me to create some baby items for her to give as a gift to a friend. She said that the baby's room was done in dinosaurs, so immediately I reached for my DCWV Kidosaurus stack. 

I created some decor that the mom could use in the baby's room. 

This little picture frame is cute and simple, the little cut out sheets in this stack are perfect for creating paper embellishments. 

I also made this mini album out of paper bags. I love the little quote. 

Last, I made a banner with the baby's name.

Sweet Shower Gifts for a Baby Girl

Have you ever needed a last minute Baby shower gift and didn't have time to run to the store for one? That has happened to me soooo many times! When I got the new DCWV Baby Girl stack, I knew that I wanted to make a few baby shower bundles that were ready to give to the new mommy-to-be. Time doesn't always allow me to run out and buy a shower gift, and handmade is always the better route in my opinion. 
So here's my little baby shower bundle. I made a paper bag mini album, a door hanger, and a card. 

I love these little door hangers! I bought a pack of wooden hangers from Wal-Mart for a couple of dollars. They are nice to keep in the alterable items drawer. I think they make wonderful gifts, plus, my daughter always wants me to make her a new one for her door. 

This would be perfect for a baby girl's nursery decor. Pretty & pink! 

I love making albums out of paper bags. I always have a rather large stash of paper bags. They are the most fun mini album to make because you have so many hidden pockets for journaling tags and extra photos. 

I always add lots of coordinating ribbons to my projects. May Arts ribbons are the absolute best! The ribbons that I chose go really well with all of the bright colors in this stack too! 

I also made a little card. If you are giving away a gift, obviously it would be nice to attach a card, so why not have one that matches the rest of the gift?
