May Arts Ribbon Scraps Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbon scraps blog hop! Today we are going to show you many ways that you can use up those ribbon scraps in projects instead of throwing them in the trash!
One of my absolute favorite uses for scrap ribbon is on tags. I keep a box of scraps right beside my desk for this reason. I hate to waste pretty ribbon!

I love to add little pieces to the bottom of a tag to give that extra dimension and frayed look. Since ribbons come in all shapes and sizes, this is the perfect use for your scraps!

Hop along with us and leave comments along the way for your chance to win a grab bag full of yummy NEW release ribbons from May Arts!

Here's the full lineup of talented ribbonistas today:

I got to play with the 2" Burlap with Colored Edge. This ribbon is fabulous. Immediately, I thought how cute this would be on a wreath, but I have never been able to conquer the art of wreath making.... so I made a few other projects instead!

I made a couple of fun Easter tags with the burlap. I Love how the colored edge coordinates with some of my favorite papers from Authentique Paper.

It's the season of love and the May Arts Ribbonistas know how to spread the love with a Valentine's Blog Hop!

I used some of the new Artful accents to create some fun little tags. These were cut from the Artful Accents Banner, but I thought tags would be cute to add to a layout or a card. It's really nice to have some of these made up, you never know when you will need them! The lace ribbon also adds a nice finishing touch to this project.

Be sure to visit all of the Ribbonistas today and if you missed yesterday's post, hop along! We have prizes to give as always! Two winners will receive some ribbon, simply comment along the way and don't forget to stop at the May Arts Blog

Unique Gift Wrapping with May Arts Ribbon!

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbon unique gift wrapping blog hop! The ribbonista elf's have been busy coming up with creative ideas to showcase how to use your May Arts Ribbon collection to wrap gifts this holiday season!

For my project, I kept it pretty simple. No one likes to spend a long time wrapping just one present, so this one is quick and easy! For those smaller presents, use unique scrapbooking paper! I love to use Authentique paper. The texture and thickness of it is perfect for wrapping! I added ribbon around and finished off with a bow tied with my bow it all bow maker. On top I added a floral embellishment.

Now for the prizes! By commenting, you have your chance to win two amazing prize packs: Your choice of 1 roll of Christmas ribbon (including the new releases!) and one of the new Artful Accents.

May Arts Handmade Christmas Card Hop

Welcome to the May Arts Ribbonista Christmas Card Hop!

It's never too early to start making Christmas cards. At least in my book that's how it goes. Most paper companies come out with their new Christmas lines in July, so that gives everyone a nice head start, plus, you can always find amazing ribbons to go along when you search the May Arts catalog!

I created this card with Authentique Paper's "Believe" collection. This collection is perfect. Plus, you can get the cardmaking stack which comes with pre-scored cards. Makes things a lot easier when you have to create a bunch of cards! What card would be complete without some yummy ribbon?! I used the 1/2 inch Pom Pom String in Red, 3/8 inch Metallic Velvet in Parrot Green, and 5/8 inch Solid/Plaid ribbon in blue for this card.

Be sure to visit fellow ribbonistas Karen Baker, Jennifer Davey, Jenifer Cowles, Jen Shears, Charlene Driggs, and Gini Williams Cagle today and don't forget to hop over to the May Arts Blog for more inspiration!

May Arts Ribbon Retro Color Themed Craft Challenge

Welcome! If you haven't stopped by the May Arts Ribbon blog lately, you are in for a treat! This week the "Retro Color Themed" Craft Challenge was announced! If you haven't played along with one of these challenges yet, you MUST play along with this one!

Here's why....
You get a sampling of these lovely ribbons to play with!!! The challenge- you combine 4 of them in a project. So easy & fun, right?

As a Ribbonita, I got a change to play along with the challenge first.... just to provide inspiration for you :-)

Here's my project! I had SO much fun playing along with this one! The colors are so great and they just scream Spring to me.

I started with a 4x4 canvas, my ribbons, some Fireworks sprays and a Spring/Retro looking stencil. I never know where these canvas projects will go when I start them, but they are always fun to create.

I started by laying my stencil over the canvas and just spraying away with my Fireworks. As you can see, in the middle the spray bled together a little which is normal on these canvases, it all depends on how heavy you spray. It can be covered up, but just be careful with spraying too much or you won't see the stencil marks.

I had SO much fun embellishing this one! I just HAD to use all of these yummy ribbons.

I used a sticker sheet from Authentique's "Delightful" collection from last year... so I guess that's where my "Retro" comes in hand since the collection is now considered "old." hehe!

I wanted to tie it all together with this photo of my husband and I from our 3rd anniversary last year. The colors in the photo matched well with some of the ribbons, so over all, it all tied together nicely. This little gem is hanging front and center in my craft room!

Good luck and I hope you all decide to play along! More inspiration projects can be seen today on the May Arts blog

May Arts & Splash of Color Birthday Bow

It's time to get inky again with our friends over at Splash of Color!  If you haven't heard, May Arts is teaming up with Splash of Color every month to show you just how well their paints and May Arts ribbon go together!  This month we are featuring our ribbon with their pearl pens!

I created this cute little Birthday rosette today. My daughter's 6th birthday is Tuesday (where did the time go?!) so I wanted to make something cute for her.

I added the #6 candle to kind of personalize it for my daughter. Cute, right? You can see that I added little dots with the pearl pen. What a great way to add dimension!

I also added some dots with the pearl pin to some of my lovely ribbons. These ribbons make the PERFECT tails for this rosette. This is a quick and easy project that you can throw together for that special birthday boy or girl!

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the May Arts blog to see other great projects and for your chance to win some prizes!

Spellbinders Platimun Party! Blog Hop

I’m excited to be part of the Spellbinders Platinum Party Blog Hop today!  I created this great project using Spellbinders Holiday and everyday dies, along with products from Imagine Crafts and Authentique Paper.

Since I got the Spellbinders Creative Book Pages, I have been itching to create another mini album! I was thrilled to get a chance to incorporate some of the new Christmas dies into my album, along with lots of other fun products!

To make this, simply cut your shape from chipboard and patterned paper like shown above.

Glue your papers to the chipboard pieces (front and back.) Once glue has dried, ink the edged with coordinating inks.

Punch holes in the tops of the pieces and add large eyelets. Add binding rings through the eyelets to hold your book together.

I created a few embellishments from my dies. I really loved the layered poinsettia die, so I cut one of those with the leaves and misted it with some Shimmer Spritz to give a nice little sparkle.

I cut the little snowflakes out of the new Vertigo from Imagine Crafts. This stuff is AWESOME!

Add embellishments & ribbon and your album is complete! I always play with my embellishments before I glue them down. It's often hard to find the perfect spot so I try different pieces in different places. The snowflakes worked out perfectly peeking from behind some of my other embellishments. I love them!

There are several pages to this little album, I just love the layered shaped pages.

I embellished with my die cuts, some Petaloo Flowers, and die cuts from Authentique Paper's "Joyous" Paper Crafting Kit. Actually, I created this ENTIRE album with that little kit!

I always LOVE to add ribbons to my albums! May Arts Ribbons are the absolute best! Soooo many to choose from!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to hop over to the Imagine Crafts blog for more amazing projects!
