Living in the Moment with May Arts & Faber Castell

Welcome to day 4 of the May Arts Ribbon/Faber Castell Blog hop! I hope you've enjoyed the week! If you are just stopping by, be sure to check out the May Arts Ribbon & Faber Castell  blogs for more details and your chance to win some prizes!

For my project today, I decorated a little 4x4 canvas.

To create this project, you will need patterned paper, I used Authentique's "Lively" collection, A Canvas, Ribbon, some Faber Castell Gelatos, and some ink products.

First, I punched some scallop hearts from the patterned paper and inked the edges.

Next, glue the hearts to the canvas.

Cover with some Creative Medium and let dry.

In the meantime, you can add gelato to ribbons & flowers for embellishments. For the flower I used May Arts ribbon Sheer frayed flower 392-25-01.

I couldn't fill in all of the cracks of the flower with the gelato, so I spritzed with some Fireworks.

These leaves (XL09) don't take paper inks, it tends to fade, so if you add gelatos, they get a really nice vibrant color. I also covered them with Creative Medium so the gelato wouldn't rub off since the leaves are suede material.

Once everything is dry, add gelato and fireworks to the canvas. Be creative.

You can add to the edges as well so everything blends.

I also added more creative medium and kind of build it up. Once it's dry, start adding ribbons.

Embellish with coordinating stickers, ribbons, paper, and the floer & leaves that we created earlier.

There you have it! A quick and easy home decor piece that is oh so cute!

Thanks for stopping by!
